Watercolor is fresh, translucent and wonderful. It is demanding and dull of contradictions and difficult to master. Most of us fail with
this medium because we treat watercolor as if we are painting in oil or acrylic paint. We then learn that the paper buckles, we form muddy pools or puddles and we get frustrated and give up. Please learn that making mistakes in this medium is the only way to learn how to use watercolor and use it with confidence.
Always make sure you have various weight of paper for your choosing, this will also teach you how different the surfaces all work.
Remember with watercolor it is unpredictable. It can dry unevenly and wet colors bleed and run causing accidental effects, which you cannot duplicate. So another words no two paintings will ever be alike.
